Just Move

First of all, I owe you an apology. I haven’t been consistent with my monthly posts, and I promise to do better moving forward. Now, let’s dig in.

If you have kids, you’ll probably resonate with this story.

A few days ago, my kids clogged their bathroom sink. I had been contemplating calling a plumber, but after looking up the costs online, I wasn’t too thrilled. So, I decided to fix it myself. Mind you, this wasn’t my first attempt. I had tried before and failed. The sink stopper head had broken off, blocking everything, and I had simply concluded that this was a job for a professional.

Still, after seeing those prices, I figured I had nothing to lose. I went online, watched a few videos, and found some alternative methods to try. The next day, I went to Dollar Tree to grab what I needed. As I was about to leave, something caught my eye—an item sitting in an abandoned basket, left behind by someone else. It was a drain clog removal tool.

I wasn’t looking for it. I hadn’t planned on buying it. But something nudged me to pick it up.

I got home, followed what I had seen in the YouTube videos, and the results were… partial. It worked, but not completely. Frustrated, I glanced at the drain clog removal tool, the one I had reluctantly bought. With nothing to lose, I decided to give it a try.

And just like that it pulled everything out, including the broken sink stopper!

I stood there for a moment, stunned. The very thing I hadn’t planned to buy, the item I almost left behind, ended up being the solution to my problem.

And then it hit me.

So many of us pray for things to happen, but we don’t make a move. We sit still, waiting for divine intervention, when in reality, faith requires action. Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Praying without taking steps is pointless.

I wasn’t motivated to fix the sink myself. I wanted a professional to do what I was fully capable of doing. And yet, what I thought was a $100+ plumbing issue was resolved with a $1.25 tool.

Faith Requires Action

Sometimes, we wait for the perfect conditions before moving, but faith doesn’t work like that. Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains” (Matthew 17:20). The moment I walked into that store, I unknowingly took a step of faith. Even though I reluctantly grabbed that tool, God had already placed the answer in my hands before I realized I needed it.

His Ways Are Not Our Ways

I thought I had it figured out. I had a plan, I had my methods, and yet, they weren’t enough. It wasn’t until I used the very thing I was uninterested in that I found the breakthrough. “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” (Psalm 118:22).

It makes me wonder how many times have we rejected what God has placed in our path because it didn’t come in the form we expected? How many times have we ignored the very thing that holds the solution to our problems?

The key to it all? I moved. I didn’t sit back, hoping for someone else to do it. I stepped out.

Just Move!

If there’s something you’ve been putting off—starting that business, writing that book, applying for that job, reconciling with a loved one—just move. Take the step. Even if you don’t feel ready. Even if you’re unsure of the outcome. Faith isn’t about seeing first, it’s about believing first.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1)

Having faith in God also means believing in yourself, because when you trust Him, you trust that He has equipped you for what lies ahead.

So today, I challenge you—don’t just pray about it. Move. Walk by faith, not by sight. Your answer might already be in your hands.

Make your move today!

Bravo! I love this so much! This speaks to the person I’m striving to become. A person who moves in faith and doesn’t just wait until I think something should happen. I will be using this as I take my next steps and explore new opportunities.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Proverbs 3 v 13.
    I can do it..
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me

As long as we have God close to us, solution to our problems is not far away from us. Don’t just pray , open the eyes of your understanding and make a move .

Yes sir 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 while I was reading, my mind referred to the book the courage to be disliked. Some people bound themselves by their own thoughts and fears. Only way to change is to act. Having faith isn’t enough action is required. I love the fact we are a praying and spiritual people, however without putting in the work. It’s almost null and void. Much love my Bro 🙌🏾🙌🏾

Great message! This perfectly reflects my life—I am the driver of my own journey, and every step I take and every accomplishment I achieve is by faith. God has given us power, strength, and direction, but it is up to us to move forward. Time waits for no one.
